In “Beautiful Failure” dance and theater merge to form a fragile world in which the boundaries between reality and fiction blur.
›Beautiful Failure‹ is about who we are and who we would like to be. It's about the masks we wear and the different roles we play as we go through life. Every moment, every day, every meeting is a kind of theater that we play for each other. We all want to be seen in the best light, and so we change things - we add something to stories or leave something out of them. In this way, memory becomes a fiction that is both real and false.
Alan Lucien Øyen - as a choreographer, author and director one of the most exciting artists on today's international dance scene - develops a dance theater of the highest emotional and dramatic intensity. For “Beautiful Failure” Øyen works with choreographer Daniel Proietto. Together with Øyen, Proietto has co-choreographed productions at the Gothenburg Opera, the Paris Opera Ballet, the Norwegian National Ballet and most recently at the renowned Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch.
